savagek
I'm not sure if you have anything planned for these now that most people are getting close to unlocking all their skills, but these have definitely increased the activity in CRs/bdw/ft/wars and it will be a shame to see those events wilt down to nothing when people no longer need their certificates - So what could be done? An item exchange - So like the BDW one, you could exchange the certificates for a reward like a chest or gems. The problem with this is it hasn't even worked for the BDW one, as most people don't really care about a measly green chest that's worth 5m. I guess you could increase the reward on them, but it would be hard to find a balance to how many you can get and the value of the reward you're given. A quest exchange - So instead of a daily/weekly/monthly quest needing an x amount of kills, it could require either the x kills or a set amount of certificates. So if you didn't want to go kill 80 DS for your weekly shard, you could hand in a set amount of certificates to complete said quest instead. I guess the downside to this is it would reduce farming/questing spots even more-so in CZ (even though I don't see anyone there at all) and would be timely to implement. Have skills reset weekly - No, not the whole quest reset. But once you unlock a skill then every week it could lock your skills on the weekly reset, and it would take a set (smaller) amount of certificates only (no mjp or coins) to reunlock. Say 10 for a whole skill set (this would have to be divided based on how many skills each class has to unlock) People still attend events to make sure they have enough stacked up ready to reunlock them. A new quest - Have maybe a new personal weapon quest in which you need a large amount of certificates for a new personal weapon. You'd want to do the math on how many certificates an average player would bring in over a month, but make it quite hard so you have to go to the majority of events. Once a month, doesn't reset with the monthly personal reset. My hesitation is that there already is lots of chances for personal weapons, so maybe make the reward an untradeable pick of BF/FT/JR unique for their respective class. These are just a few ideas, please post ur own
Razordagawd
Think they went a bit overboard on simplifying skill unlocking towards the end. I got everything now because I did every event possible and every war CR -- I don't think casual players will be able to do this but that's besides the point. Now once again those events have little to offer (wars and their reduced NPC gain still TBA, bdws, forgotten temples). Changes that are contradictory are everywhere. How about the riote and atross toughening up? Can't count how many times I've seen poor lowbies trying to solo these unsuccessfully or calling for help, then I, or others murder them. Back then a riote was soloable in a timely fashion at least... Anyways, I digress. My suggestion would be creating an NPC that allows various exchanges for these certs, some even for exclusive items. Whenever the other game that I sometimes play (GW2) introduces a new map currency, they have exchanges ready for it. It's not just a single "get 100 and you get this", theres a wide array of attractive items to get at cheaper currency prices, kind of to make it even harder to aim for the 100x item, because you get slowed down along the way getting those useful goods or maybe going for something else entirely. Something like this: NPC: 1 certificate for 1x unbind item (used in old uniques) 1 certificate for a random hepa crafting item (in the future) 2 certificates for a gem of life / exp / cont 2 certificates for a Blessed Upgrade Scroll 5 certificates for a Red / blue potion (10 minutes duration - 24 hours expiration date) 10 certificates for a monster stone 10 certificates for an Abyss Fire. 15 certificates for a 100% XP recovery respawn scroll 15 certificates for a Tear of Kariv. 20 certificates for a Trina's Piece 40 certificates for a Shadow piece (future) 40 certificates for a Royal Emblem 50 certificates for a 100% +6 scroll 60 certificates for a Monster Summon Staff 100 certificates for a ?? cant think of anything. Also, for the time when rentals are enabled, the rental cost could be not just coins, why not add 1 cert in the mix? PS: Quote Have skills reset weekly - No, not the whole quest reset. But once you unlock a skill then every week it could lock your skills on the weekly reset, and it would take a set (smaller) amount of certificates only (no mjp or coins) to reunlock. Is the dumbest garbage I've ever read LOL it would piss everyone off. There's no good that can come out of this. peyo
I like the NPC idea except for that single BUS for 2 certs lol also agree that unlocking skill every week is a terrible idea damn, for once we agree razor...
Jona
i like the npc idea aswell true that, even 2 certificates for 1 BUS seems fine, that's like only max 2 or 3 busses a day, except war days... if you can go to all events
savagek
The BDW coupon exchange showed an exchange won't work if the rewards aren't good enough. So there would definitely have to be tiered rewards that scale, not some once a day exchange for garbage like a green chest or BUS.
