FPS drops

hello sir.

Is there anyway to make your client lag less? Ive played on several ko servers and I always manage to get fps high by turning effects etc into very low settings. But on this server it seems that it does not allow me to make the settings very low.  Do you think it would be possible to make very low settings for the game? I literally play this game only cuz of the game play itself and not graphics. Please let me know, thank you.

You can disable stuff like weapon effects, shadows, blur, npc fx, camera vibration, zone effects, wings, anti-aliasing. And not to mention focus distance.

Also worth to mention, your client will be capped at 90 fps when you launch it but you can increase this to 120 fps in-game (doesn't save upon relog).

What are your PC's specs? CPU, video card, RAM?

Its a laptop with Intel i5-6300HQ and with CPU at almost 3.0 GHz, vdeo card is AMD radeon R9 smth and RAM is 8. Obviously I do not have a gg laptop, I am aware of that and this topic is not an complainant, but rather if there is any way to work around the fps drops? Lets take DARKKO for an example, I tried a few days ago just out of curiosity and it amazed me that they even added several options to change graphics (High, low and VERY LOW) and so on.  At very low settings I noticed that my character was a little blurry and a few other details in-game which I am perfectly fine with. So my question is if there is anyway to make it very low on settings in this server?

The reason I asked was to try and figure out why the FPS drops actually occurred, given KO is a 16+ year old game now it shouldn't really struggle that much on recent systems - and in fact your laptop seems more than equipped to handle it.

It seems like the "new settings" that server added are just setting presets which modify all of the LOD limits etc, although they may have reduced things like the "effect" limit (which actually restricts how many renderable object parts are rendered, which *includes* effects). But this is already extremely low for current times, and I really wouldn't advise dropping it below the default minimum or you'll get wacky things happen like buildings partially rendering etc.

I feel like you should be able to get equivalent quality drops by tweaking the various LOD settings manually (options editor does expose them) but when I get more of a chance I'll go take a proper look at that stuff for you and see if there's anything I can do for you.
