Slow & stun rates, take #203

Recommended Posts

The rates seem more balanced on the higher end of resistances now. If you have a lot, you will rarely get slowed or stunned, as it should be.

There's an issue, however, with the lower end of resistances. I constantly look up character information of players that with 10 glacier resistance, seem to be immune to slows. Having TEN ice resistance, or even 30, should get you slowed a lot.

As it is, there's no penalty or downside in having zero resistances because whether you have 10 or 80 ice / light res, it is still the same regarding slows and stuns.

This should also apply to other classes btw, not just rogues. Mages, priests, kurians and especially warriors seem to be completely immune to every type of crowd control in the book except maybe mage's light staff (72 skill) and the obvious kurian guaranteed CC.

Some examples of 10 glacier resistance heroes who never get slowed, when they should be getting it at least 50% of the times.

This guy has 5 glacier resistance, almost never gets slowed, maybe just as much as I do:

Majority of rogues have from 25 GR to 40 (the latter being an okay amount to resist a fair share of slows). I'm not calling these people TBLers or anything, the rates are just not working properly with those that have ridiculously low amounts of resistances.

Why have I invested in resistances when I could have literally zero and get slowed as much as I do right now? (which is little with 70, but at least it feels like it makes sense).

Tl;dr: High elemental resistance should result in both reduced damage from the respective element and diminished incoming crowd control rates. Very low elemental resistance should result in high damage from the respective element and rather high odds of successful incoming crowd control effects. It's not that complicated.

He just want his archer to do a one shot slow so sin's and other class cant outrun him and he can just laugh spamming dark pursuer and powershot. Thinking what story you might bring tomorrow. hmmmm

If you have no resistances at all, you should get slowed. It's common sense. Maybe don't be a dimwit and buy lego / cocs / raum / chd lol.

so you are saying that if a sin uses dual lego+3 and dual cocks+3 he can never be slowed or stunned ?

Why should he? warriors / mages / priests with less resistances never get slowed or stunned anyway.

Even tho I play archer im satisfied with current stun and ice rates, especially seeing those archer pts of Rome or other Legion clans. eeeK

They're fine on higher ends but if you're a dummy and have 0 FR 0 GR 0 LR you should be punished for it methinks

I agree the rates ain't right. I have 55 LR and I get stunned easily but when I use LR pot from sundries (135 total LR) it's much less to get stunned. Now if those rogues have such low resist they should be stunned/iced alot, if not then something is wrong.
