Aesteris got a reaction from Leipis in Do you want (+8) to be opened?
We've discussed all the various views on the release of the (+8) cap among the staff members, have carefully analyzed both arguments for and against opening things up, and looked at the current situation in the server.
We thank you for your patience in this regard, and believe we've come up with a decision that's best for the server.
We evaluated the difference in damage w/ (+8) items vs. (+7) items, although there definitely is a bump there, we believe the release of these items to be necessary for an overall healthy server.
To put this into perspective, during the level 70 cap stage, players would run around with ~5000 (warriors/priests), ~4000 (rogues/mages) health. With the cap raised to level 80 cap, this health pool has increased by 1500 to 2000 across the board (without using undying!). Damage however has not scaled linearly with this, and (as expected) this generally means fights take longer now and the pace is slower. The conclusion we draw from these numbers is that opening up (+8) items will not affect PvP scenarios greatly - yes, those with them will be stronger, but those without them won't be behind very far.
Where does this leave newcomers? We have the rental item system available at our disposal to be deployed at any moment in time, and while we do not currently believe it is ready to be enabled, once (+8) becomes more widespread and there's a noticeable entry barrier for newcomers we will be using this to close the gap and remove that barrier.
    In conclusion:
The (+8) upgrade cap will be released this Sunday, June 14th.

Aesteris got a reaction from Stamp in What are we working on [07/06/2020 ~ 14/06/2020]
    Dear Apexians,
This is the fourth post in this series, hoping to shed some light on what we'll be working on - so you know what'll be happening this week!
Please note that anything written down here should be considered tentative - it is on our schedule and we strive to finish this in the given time period, however unforeseen circumstances (emergencies, both in-game and in real life), may lead to a change of plans.
So, what will we be working on this week?
Implement the specifics for the new invasion events (note: we're talking monster invasions here!). Improving Lunar Wars and invasions. Evaluate Juraid Mountain run times and determine by how much we can reduce it's run time. Evaluate Ronark Land tower damage and adjust where necessary. Improve Collection Races a little with "guaranteed rewards" being available at certain times. Look into adding the "Priest Book" to the Power-Up Store for our Battle Priests out there. Evaluate the current influx of Certificates of Event Participation and if deemed too low increase the rate at which these can be obtained slightly (more general influx), or if deemed discouraging, add alternative ways to obtain them (dailies, weeklies, fixed-reward collection races, PK chests). What did we not get done last week, but is still on our list for this week?
Starting with our "Community Outreach" program (more details to be released on that soon).
-> This was pending a server-side change that allowed us to send out letters with more content to players in-game, which is now completed. Implement a "late-joiners / rejectees" event queue, who will be allowed to replace players that are kicked / have left from instanced events. Implement AFK detection for events, and an event infraction system to punish repeat offenders. What is still in progress?
Making the forums more convenient to use for our players by means of adding quick links to the most important guides.
-> We've already improved a bunch of our official guides and will continue to do so. Looking forward to next week!

Aesteris got a reaction from Hic-A-Doo-La in Do you want (+8) to be opened?
Now that most people have cast their votes, we'll be analyzing the results and remove any duplicates to ensure we have an accurate view of what you all want.
At a first glance, the results seem to indicate a majority does not want this unlocked right now.
Please remember that unlocking the upgrades is done in a matter of seconds, whereas the effects of doing so will last for the remainder of this server. Hence we'd like to err on the side of caution here.

Thanks to everyone that's voted (and voiced) their opinions!

    Dear Apexians,
We're interested in hearing your opinion on the subject of opening (+8) upgrades.
We personally believe it's too soon, as there are not that many players walking around in full (+7) gear, and it may be a deterrent for new players to join.
Please vote in the poll and let us know!

Aesteris got a reaction from NoNeeD in Apex Community Rules
    Dear Apexians,
For a pleasant gaming environment enjoyable by many, rules need to be set in stone and adhered to.
As such, please read through the following rules, remember them, and uphold them.
Please note that any staff decision made can only be reversed by the staff member making the decision. If you feel your punishment was unjust, please contact the staff member in question. Only after contacting the staff member in question, and providing proof of your contact with them, may you raise this @twostars or @Aesteris.
Any cases not covered in these rules are ultimately up to @twostars and @Aesteris to decide on, at their combined and full discretion.
These rules are subject to change at any point in time without prior or post notice, and it is your own responsibility to be aware of any changes made to them.
    GENERAL
Publicly abusing someone verbally (e.g. shouting, normal chat, merchant chat, king notice, etc.) is not allowed and will result in a mute, the length of which is completely at the GMs discretion. Additional punishments (such as the removal of Kingship) may be added on top of this.
Retaliating with profanity yourself ties our hands, and in this case neither or both players will be muted. This again, is completely at the GMs discretion. Offensive language is allowed through private messages only. anyone that gets offensive language thrown at them may block the person in question by using the /chatblock feature. Advertising real-life currency trades inside the game, forums, Discord, and other social media is strictly prohibited and will result in a 7 day mute on first strike, 30 day mute on second strike, and permanent mute on third strike. Disclosing any users private information (such as, but not limited to, name, address, country, email address, profile photo, etc.) is strictly prohibited and will lead to a 14 day mute on first strike, and a permanent mute on second strike. Advertising any other server, or disallowed content (hacks, tbls, koxp, etc.) inside the game, on our forums, or any of our social media is strictly prohibited and will lead to a permanent account ban. Whether something is disallowed content or not is determined at our sole discretion. Using inappropriate names for your character or clan is ill advised. If a name is deemed inappropriate, you may be forced to (clan) name change, or receive a permanent character ban in case of non-compliance. Using inappropriate graphics as clan symbols is strictly prohibited and may result in the clan leader being permanently banned. Impersonating staff members is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent account ban. Any negativity in the in-game chat, the forums, and Discord channel is strictly prohibited - you may send staff members a personal message if you can't find a way to express yourself without negativity. Account sharing is not supported, if you share your account, you lose your eligibility for support from us. Account selling is not supported, if you sell your account (note: the entire account, not just a character in a Cypher Ring!), you lose your (and the future buyer's) eligibility for support from us. Luring a monster that results in a players death, or attempts at luring a monster with the intent to kill a player or group of players is strictly prohibited and will result in a 3 day ban on first strike, 7 day ban on second strike, and permanent ban on third strike. Lose aggro on whichever monster is chasing you before running into others. Intent to kill is determined at our sole discretion. Intentionally misleading staff or tampering with evidence when requesting support may result in your account being permanently banned. Setting up wagers for in-game fights is allowed, however we will not act as a middleman to enforce the ruleset nor the payout to the winning side if they are done outside of the (automated) systems that are in-place for this. Loot sharing for the following items is mandatory among ALL people in the party. If need be, we will hold the item until a buyer can be found: Iron Necklace Chitin Shield Iron Belt Glass Belt Ring of the Felankor Being away from keyboard, intentionally not participating in, and intentionally griefing other players during instanced events (including, but not limited to: Border Defense War, Chaos, Juraid Mountain, Forgotten Temple), will result in a 1 day event ban on first strike, 7 day event ban on second strike, and permanent event ban on third strike. One person (not account, not character, not computer) may only have 1 genie active at any one point in time, violating this rule will permanently remove your ability to use Genie ON FIRST STRIKE, and your accounts will be banned for 3 days. CHEATING
A keyboard macro is defined as a program that'll repeat keystrokes at a set interval. Anything that scans the screen and responds to that, or fetches data in any way and makes decisions based on that is NOT a keyboard and therefore NOT allowed. Using a keyboard macro to farm is allowed while you are present at the keyboard with Genie OFF. Using a keyboard macro to farm is allowed while you are away from the keyboard with Genie ON, not having genie on while using a macro and being away-from-keyboard will result in a 3 day ban on first strike, 7 day ban on second strike, and permanent ban on third strike. Using any program (koxp) to automate more than keyboard strokes is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent account ban. Using any program that'll allow you to run faster (speedhack) than you should be able to is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent account ban. Using any client modifications that'll allow you to gain an unfair advantage over others (aside from the modifications officially distributed by us through the Options Editor located in the client's folder, as well as changing Mage AoE effects visually) is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent account ban. Anything (koxp) that modifies your skills in such a way that you gain an unfair advantage over others is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent account ban. Logging into more than the amount of characters currently allowed per physical computer (the limit is 1 as of May 1st, 2020) is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent account ban. NP transferring is strictly prohibited and will result in your NP being wiped alongside a 7 day ban on first strike, and a permanent ban on second strike. What is and what is not NP transferring is up to GM discretion. Using a macro to automate any part of an achievement (e.g. the Moradon arena achievement) is strictly prohibited and will result in the removal of any achievement obtained via the use of this macro, as well as a 3 day ban on first strike, a 7 day ban on second strike, and a permanent ban on third strike. BUGS
Any bugs found must be reported to the staff as soon as you're aware of one. Withholding the fact you've found a bug may result in your account being permanently banned when found out. Letting us know of any major bugs without abusing it yourself will get you rewarded at our discretion. Please contact any of our staff members directly (through in-game PMs, or forum PMs) with information on major bugs. Minor bugs generally do not get rewarded, but we encourage you to report them anyway as that way we'll be able to improve your own experience! Bug abusing with the intent to harm the server (in the widest sense of the word), or with the intent to provide the abuser with an unfair advantage over others is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent account ban.
    Enjoy your time here!

    Dear Apexians,
This is the third post in this series, hoping to shed some light on what we'll be working on - so you know what'll be happening this week!
Please note that anything written down here should be considered tentative - it is on our schedule and we strive to finish this in the given time period, however unforeseen circumstances (emergencies, both in-game and in real life), may lead to a change of plans.
So, what will we be working on this week?
Finalizing quests and rates for the level 80 cap expansion (release date to be announced). Going over upgrades rates to (+8) and ensuring all currently released items can be upgraded to (+8) as well as (+5) rebirth. Small tweaks to the event schedule. Increase Bifrost monster drop rates (inside the Bifrost zone) a little more. What did we not get done last week, but is still on our list for this week?
Starting with our "Community Outreach" program (more details to be released on that soon). Start working on a custom invasion event (for anyone that remembers, we've always wanted to do this!) Implement a "late-joiners / rejectees" event queue, who will be allowed to replace players that are kicked / have left from instanced events. Implement AFK detection for events, and an event infraction system to punish repeat offenders. What is still in progress?
Making the forums more convenient to use for our players by means of adding quick links to the most important guides. What is scrapped for now?
Adding a coin requirement to joining instanced events such as Juraid Mountain, Border Defense War, and Forgotten Temple, as well as Bifrost. Looking forward to next week!

Aesteris got a reaction from Bushlaff in An update on the Castle Siege War situation (and client modifications)
    Dear Apexians,
During the last Castle Siege War it was made abundantly clear that our stance towards client modifications hadn't been entirely clear; we had mistakenly assumed that due to their widespread use, there was no need to draft any rules regarding this behaviour.
For this, we sincerely apologise, and with this post we intend to clarify our stance on this for the upcoming Castle Siege War.
We are currently in the process of working on preventing various client modifications related to objects (please note that effects are fine). Once this is done, we'll work on providing you with options in the Options Editor to select which modifications you'd like to use yourself, so ALL players can equally benefit from the FPS improvements if they desire, in a way controlled by us so as to level the playing field for everyone.
Until this is done and enforced, we see no other option but to continue allowing the usage of this modification pack, but to be clear - after we're done implementing this, nobody will be able to see through walls anymore (or gain other unfair advantages via such modifications).
This means that going forward - once this is implemented - any (non-effect) modifications not provided by us will not be tolerated.
Regarding the ownership of the Delos castle, the next Castle Siege War will start from a clean state, as everyone will equally be aware of our stance on these modifications.
This means that the current holder will remain in control of the castle until 5 minutes prior to the next Castle Siege War, at which point they will lose ownership and the Castle Siege War event will start as free-for-all.
We apologise for the confusion this has caused, and we thank you all very much for your continued support.
Looking forward to seeing you all in the next Castle Siege War!

    Changelog
Juraid Mountain event has been activated. Collection races are now on a schedule. Reset ranges on various frequently lured monsters have been set up - this should hopefully combat some of the luring that goes on. Invisibility potion now costs 10 million coins to buy for the daily quest in Ronark Land. Introducing Archer's Fatigue:
    - Casting a single target archer skill will now temporarily debuff you and slow you down.
    - After this debuff has ended, your Light Feet is recast automatically provided it should not have expired by then.
    - This debuff can be cured. Apex Point vouchers can no longer be put on Buying Merchants. Buying Merchants that can not accept players selling to them for any reason will now be automatically logged off. Active Offline Buying Merchants are now restricted to 1 per PC. Added a quest to [Captain] Folkwine and [Captain] Hwargo allowing you to exchange 5 Certificates of Victory for a Green Treasure Chest (repeatable daily). The monument in Castle Siege War can no longer be healed. Players with an active Siege transformation can no longer be healed. Increased Bifrost monster drop rates a little. A tax has been added to transactions made through the Merchant System. The EXP seal system is now disabled. Fixed an issue with Ultima not showing up in Bifrost. Automatic Power-Up Store refund system is completed and will opened up shortly. Clan teleports will no longer include merchants or offline sessions. [BETA Tester] titles were awarded to those who reached level 60+ in the farm beta phase before the deadline. New event schedule implemented.

    Changelog
Archers have been tweaked a little:
    1. The damage on their stun/slow shots has been reduced.
    2. All skills except for Multishot and Arrow Shower can no longer cancel other player's skills
    3. The cooldown on Styx has been increased.
    4. Arrows will no longer damage you if you can get far enough away from the caster by the time it hits you. Added the "Gem of Life" item to mysterious ore's drop table (obtained through mining)
This item gives you a 250HP buff that stacks with your scrolls. Drop rates on fragments from Bifrost (specifically on Envy and Greed) have been reduced. Offline merchants and offline miners should now rejoin the server almost immediately after logging out, fixing a bug where they would sometimes not rejoin at all. Fixed teleport issues in wars. Fixed commander skills in wars. Alliance members in Castle Siege War no longer spawn inside the Castle. Castle Siege War transformations can only be cast in the designated zone for transforming. Fixed an issue with weekly quests unintentionally resetting the kill count for quests back to zero on Tuesdays whenever you relogged.

    Dear Apexians,
This will be the first of a series of posts made to shed some light on things we're working on, so you have something to look forward to!
Please note that anything written down here should be considered tentative - it is on our schedule and we strive to finish this in the given time period, however unforeseen circumstances (emergencies, both in-game and in real life), may lead to a change of plans.
So, what will we be working on this week?
We'll be finalizing Collection Races and start running them manually at first, and later schedule them once we're happy with how they are. We'll be looking at making the forums more convenient to use for our players by means of adding quick links to the most important guides. We'll be looking into adding a quest to exchange superfluous border defense war victory tickets into something that'll provide an additional incentive to go to Border Defense War. We're continuously monitoring the coin influx and outflow of the server and will make adjustments based on our findings. We are considering adding tax to merchants to increase coin outflow, as well as increase the price to open PK chests (this change would mean the items obtained through the PK chest will all become tradeable). We'll be enabling the currently disabled weekly quests for Crystals / Crude Sapphires / Opals. We'll be looking into which monsters should be put on a leash to prevent them from being lured (too far) and kill innocent players. We'll be adding scrolls to change your personal item to any other personal item (e.g. dagger -> shield). We'll be adding a monthly quest to reset your personal quests. We'll be looking at the client crash certain players are experiencing in hopes of solving the issue at hand. We'll be improving our server-side anti-cheat to prevent cheaters from doing things they should not be doing. We'll be working on some behind-the-scenes tooling for our staff so they are better equipped to assist you. We'll be working on some analytic tooling to help us get a clearer view of the server in general. We'll be going over Juraid Mountain's functionality prior to it's release to ensure there are no issues there. We'll be fixing the bugs reported with Castle Siege War and Lunar Wars to ensure these events run smoothly from here on out. We'll be looking at moving the Bifrost event time and/or reducing the frequency of this event to ensure healthy PK during peak times. Looking forward to next week!

    Reminders:
Starting this weekend, you will be banned for 3/7/14/999 days for farm macro'ing without genie!
Verbal abuse will be punished with a 3/7/14/999 day mute.
Luring monsters that results in killing others are punished with a 3/7/14/999 days ban.

    Changelog
Implement an all-in-one search bar on the website's main page. You may use this to search for: drops, monsters, NPCs, characters, and items.
Simply start typing anything to get started.
Implemented support for Collection Race events Currently these still need a little more testing, but fear not - they're almost here! Bifrost event has now been enabled and will run twice a day except on Saturdays. Added Isiloon to Ronark Land bowl on an 8 to 12 hour respawn timer.
    Between 5 to 60 minutes prior to Isiloon spawning, a server-wide notice will be made indicating she is spawning within the next 5 to 60 minutes. Added a server-wide notice to indicate Chaos Stone is spawning within the next 5 to 25 minutes. Added 2 spawns of rotating Bifrost monsters on opposite sides of bowl. Reduced coins obtained from certain monsters as they were significantly better to farm for raw coin than others because their drops were tuned without taking into account coin drops. The affect monsters include but are not limited to: Orc family POOKA Death Wizards Stone Golem Giant Golem HORNET Flame Rock Reaper Gloom Hound HOBGOBLIN GOBLIN bouncer Uruk Tron Uruk Blade Uruk Hai Haunga Garuna Kongau Phantom Shadow Beast Reduced selling price on Blood of Glyptodont. Fixed an issue with [Blacksmith] Hepa's low-level weapon production quest not rewarding you any items upon completion. Fixed some crashes that could occur while on a load screen. Fixed an issue where you could be incorrectly receiving (quest) credit for monster kills made by another player. Fixed Maestro potions being free if you were using DC premium;
These now correctly require money even when using DC premium. Fixed Trina's tooltip incorrectly saying using one make your upgrades fail-safe to (+5). Fixed Eslant Dark Knight quest not showing a monster counter. Fixed a bunch of upgrade issues Reversed mage staffs can now change elemental by using a high-class dispell scroll on them. Certain second-tier high-class weapons that should be reverse upgradeable but were not, are now fixed. Giga 2H, Javana 2H, Wreath of Erenion, Dread Shield (although it's not released yet) can now all be upgraded. Temporarily disabled Hyper Noah from the Power-Up Store while we re-evaluate coin influx and outflow of the server. Fixed an issue with Alencia Wing Voucher and Arrange Line Voucher being untradeable. The [Judge] teleport NPC inside various locations will now send you to Moradon if you're not eligible for other zones. Aside from this, we're currently also looking into the client crash experienced by many of you and would like to ask you for a little more of your patience - we've picked up a trail and are deep in the forests of debugging at the moment.

    Dear Apexians,
The journey has been long but we're almost there!
Thanks once more to all beta participants who've made this possible, we couldn't have done it without you guys!
A few announcements regarding the official launch; first off is the countdown timer (in case someone couldn't find it in any other place).

For a slightly more detailed guide on Apex Forever, head on over here (you'll also be able to find a comprehensive list of the biggest changes since the farm beta).
Regarding the rewards for the various betas, we strive to deliver them to you as soon as we can during official - anyone that's not contacted in-game but did win, please PM me and I'll sort you out.
Finally, if anyone has issues purchasing Apex Points, please let us know - we're in direct contact with the payment processor to resolve any issues that may arise along the way.
We're extremely happy to be able to welcome back our amazing community after so many years!
