  1. EXP doesn't have to be easier to be honest. All you have to do is increase the exp gain from events, which makes leveling up easy for the casuals as well. Of course there might be some complaining but in that case EXP just has to be interesting in it's own way.


  2. Looking good so far. Then again I wish we could reach like 100 users before beta but anywhere over 50 people taking part will give you a good idea of people's opinions.

     

    The only thing this poll doesn't tell is ehat people would be 'okay' with. It directly shows what they WANT but it doesn't tell you if they would play a server which doesn't exactly match their wishes. Of course that's why the expansions are handy, because you can ask people's opinions before launching every expansion to see if you're making a smart move or not.

     

    Nevertheless. I'm glad so many people have already provided this much information.


  3. Pure research. This kind of information was requested by Aesteris from me last summer so I figured I could finish my work like this. This way the public opinion can be viewed by everybody as well. Just requires a lot of people to actually go through the polls lol.


  4. i'm in for the hard exp, but define hard though please :P

    i don't want it to be as hard as USKO, cause let's face it.... It takes alot of time to even get 83 there :P without genie you're not even allowed to get a lif e:P

    Defining the rates is not the point of this topic :P just to get some kind idea as in what people want from this server. It also might be valuable information for future servers made by other people.


  5. Already mentioned before that it's not that good of an idea to limit things that make people feel 'special'.

     

    Excessive catering to casuals seems to be all the rage nowadays, but KO was never really a casual game considering all the grinding involved.

    Which is why I suggest that there's a quest to open these skills. Anybody can open the skills at any time without them being limited by money and farming bosses. It's working like this in USKO atm but I don't think it's at it's finished stage. It could still be better.


  6. Absolute power description says it adds 30% damage and the damage bonus is minimal. Also mage damage range is massive which is why it's so hard to tell whether it's working or not. I might log a mage this weekend just to test it myself by using the same skill over and over and checking the maximum damages. If there is even a small increase then it works but it definitely is no game changer.

     

    How did you test arrow defence btw? I recall it being completely useless.


  7. not sure if i like the last question :P i would say that hardcore (active) exp should reward around the same (if not more) exp as scheduled events. but well ideal way for me still might be doing quests+events since i dont have much time

    Well that is true. Either way it's more like determining whether people prefer simplistic leveling over a more variable way of leveling up. I would personally prefer killing different mobs for either kill count or item drops rather than doing Booroo/DS/DK for 8 hours straight :D


  8. Are you sure about that? Double-checking against 1.298, it appears to be handling it -- and we're handling both of these things the same.

    Well it's one of the oldest debates of KO and I personally see no difference in damage output when I use it. Of course it is entirely possible that the damage bonus is so minimal that I just didn't notice it but in that case the damage bonus is bugged and doesn't match the skill description.


  9. I think the system should be reworked so that you can get the skills by farming monsters or just by doing a quest (much like personal). It indeed discourages people if they have to struggle with master and 70 skills. It also opens up another way of becoming overpowered by doanating.
