    I doubt you would enjoy that change; Let's pull some math into this disregarding the fact you need to repair :
     
    In an hour, 720 attempts are made to get an item from fishing.
    To be able to fish for an hour, considering the rate at which a rainworm "drops" from fishing, You need 654 rainworms.
    To get 654 rainworms, you need to mine in EMC / Luferson for anywhere between 2.6h to 6h (2.6h if you're using the golden mattock, 6h if you're not). To average this out "fairly" we'd take the average of the 2, as some people will be using a golden mattock and a golden fishing rod, whereas some will only have a golden fishing rod. This puts us at 4.3h, now looking lets see, what does this mean for the BUS drop rate from Fishing for example? Currently, you're getting ~36 BUS per hour (statistical average), disregarding repair trips. If we were to remove the rainworms, you'll be getting 36 / (4.3h + 1h) = 6.8 BUS per hour, again disregarding the trips to repair your rod. Let's take another item - the advanced leather for example. You're currently getting about 1.8 of those per hour, removing the rainworm requirement will put it at 0.34 per hour.
     
    I doubt a lot of people are willing to "take the hit" to the rate if we were to remove the rainworm requirement. Fishing isn't meant to get you to super shells, playing the game is (doing everything, or a large part of, everything we've got to offer).
     
    Now, to the issue of mining / fishing characters - there are actually measures in place (though currently disabled, as I want to see the "best scenario" for everyone during this beta) which nerf the mining and fishing rates by up to 3 times, depending on various (obv. non-disclosed) criteria of your character. So, by my calculations, and by keeping the criteria to these dynamic rate changes a secret, I expect someone to need at least 4 characters mining or fishing at the same time (all with the golden mattock / golden fishing rod) to be able to obtain the same rate as someone who is "legit" and just plays the game and uses mining / fishing as an activity to do when they don't have a lot of time on their hands.
     
    Lastly, "but what about macros" - in short, we can't block them from being used entirely, but we can make life hard on them, as a macro (not an actual cheat) can't determine (for example) the location of an NPC in the game. Did I hear anyone say "give us a patrolling inn hostess and sundries behind the fishing spot /mining spot"? Perhaps.

    As for the golden should only be a rate increase - it is just that - a rate increase. If anyone finds any discrepancy (though I don't see how) between the use of a normal one versus a golden one, let me know and I'll get it fixed asap

    It’s time for update #2!
    But first, our like-and-share event. As some of you may have noticed we’re running a like-and-share event on Facebook and wanted to make sure everyone here has the chance to participate! We’re currently at 701 likes and growing, please do help us get the word spread just that little bit further if you haven’t liked and shared yet (and enter the drawing to win some Apex Points)!
     
    We've said we’ll be covering a fair few things, so let’s dive right in with the first on the list; Quest changes. We’ve heard time and time again that (most of the) quests in KO feel too unrewarding to even bother accepting and a bunch of people would like to see this fixed. That’s exactly what we’ve been trying to do. Most of the quests have had their rewards scaled up to be more proportionate to the time investment needed to complete them or have had their time investment needed reduced, increasing the feeling of the quests being worth doing. On top of this, we’ve added a few quests to the PvP-zones. Some of which have rewards worthwhile for both new and old players -weekly (and daily) quests which require you to defeat enemy nation users, aid in the killing of the Chaos Stone, and capturing the middle monument for your nation! We’re open to more suggestions on how to innovate when it comes to the PvP zones in KO, leave your comment below!
     
    Next up - monster changes. This one is more of a bug fix report than anything else, and sheds some light into what some of you have experienced throughout the first server. Boss respawn times, NPCs in invasions, Chaos Stone, monsters becoming unresponsive, etc. something was off with the AI code which takes care of timing - this resulted in all AI actions (more often than not) being delayed by up to twice as much as it should’ve been. NPCs respawning in invasions after ~an hour instead of 30 minutes? Yea, this was the culprit. Evil Wizards (or any other slot of monsters for that matter) becoming unresponsive after long server uptime? Yup, another one to be contributed to this (in fact, this one got worse the longer the server was up). Luckily however, this is now fixed! 

    After that we’ve got event schedule changes.
    We’ve had numerous complaints about events being held at unfair times for certain timezones. Therefore we’ve been improving the event schedule to increase the turn-up for most events in order to increase the fun for everyone. The event schedule can be seen during our beta (and we’ll need your feedback to know if it needs further improving!). On top of this, we’ve finished implementing the support needed to stop scheduled events from running, allow us MUCH more freedom when scheduling GM-ran events 
     
    Last up we’ve got communication changes. This was something which we’ve heard from multiple corners - you’d like to see us communicate more. What have we got in store for you? First and foremost, these (and other) blog-like posts. We’re not sure if you guys enjoy these blog-like posts yet, but we’d love to hear your input on these. The way we’ll be moving these once the official launch has happened will be a weekly wrap-up of things that have happened (in case something needs clarification - say some massive bug caused disruption to the service) in-game, the server as a whole, progress on updates, sneak peaks, some of the reasons behind changes, etc. Furthermore we’ll be holding a weekly “1-on-1 with the team” meeting with all top 10 clan leaders for up to 2 hours in which concerns about the server can be raised, and can be responded to in real time by us. Knowing your concern has been heard and will be worked on can be very comforting to all parties involved - this is however not a guarantee things will go the way suggested by the leaders, anything major will be community polled.

    Today marks the start of our advertisement campaign on ko4life, Facebook, other (Turkish, Spanish, etc.) forums, and various toplists!

    The beta server will be taken down on the 16th of December 2015 and we’ll be preparing the server for the official release from then on out.
    The current server will be taken down on the 10th of December, in preparation for the new server’s beta.

    Next up; changes to the server!

    First of all, EXPing has been made faster.
    Some monsters have had their EXP adjusted to be more in line with how we want them to be.
    You’ll be able to see this yourself during the beta (the beta will be roughly 3-4 times faster than official). Not only this, but also the fact that Genie will be free will help to reduce the overhead that is EXPing massively (and attract more players!).



    Secondly, mining and fishing have had a rework and have been balanced around the drop rates.
    Bifrost fragments, Red - Green - Blue chests, and Juraid gems drops from mining and fishing have been changed (or removed).
    Only Red Chest and Fragment of Arrogance can be found while mining in EMC / Luferson, at a very low rate. The remaining fragments, chests, and gems which you used to be able to find have been removed entirely.
    Furthermore an important issue with the fishing rod has been fixed, namely it did not lose durability while using it and thus allowed for (some of the) abuse that had happened.
    On top of that is the requirement for rainworms to be able to fish. Previously only the normal rod required them, however both rods require them now. Rainworms can be obtained ONLY from mining in EMC / Luferson. They're set to be found at a decent rate there. (note; Moradon mining will not get you rainworms!).
    Furthermore, there are some behind-the-scenes rate adjustments based on your characters attributes - legit players won’t notice these, those who attempt to be less honest in their mining / fishing endeavors may notice a steep decrease in the value of the items they get! 

    Furthermore, the donated NP required to advance in grades for accredited and royal knights has been reduced - we want to see those long capes sooner (and hopefully intensify the battle to be the first to get them)!

    Next up, AFK’ers in events and the measures we’ve taken against them.
    During the instanced events (with the exception of Chaos), everyone will have the ability to initiate a vote kick against any party member.
    For the vote to succeed, 75% of the party need to agree to kick this person, after which the person will be kicked.
    If a person has been kicked numerous times we’ll be limiting their ability to join the events at all (we scrutinize this manually before imposing such a measure) - as well as temporary restricting their account access (as well as their main accounts).
    We understand how frustrating this was for everyone and hope to have found a good solution to this problem.

    Finally, the upgrade rates have been changed a little (and general ‘fixes’ to upgrading) have been made.
    The low / middle class upgrade scrolls now have the same upgrade rate as the Blessed Upgrade Scroll (but remain usable only on low / middle class items respectively).
    The high-class upgrade scroll (“Upgrade Scroll”, green one) can now only be used on items that are below (+5) - allowing you to, as per the description, upgrade items up to (+5).
    Upgrading using a Blessed Upgrade Scroll to (+9) has been disabled completely. You can proceed to upgrade using the reverse upgrade system, up to (+11).
    The upgrade rate for reverse upgrades has been normalized across all grades to reflect the previously mentioned change.
    Generally speaking, all upgrade rates have been increased a little - as a result (+7) is easier to obtain, and (+8)’s should be more accessible to everyone.
    Low class and middle class items can be upgraded to (+9) using their respective scrolls (as these items can’t be reversed and we want to keep paper builds, as well as mixing some paper gear with shells for a temporary damage boost, viable).

    Hello guys!
     
    Since the population dramatically dropped the last couple of days me and some friends (that's planning to make a fresh comeback to the server) wondering some things and I myself think ppl are afraid to play right now cuz they don't know whats gonna happen to the server and espacally spend money in pus, I'll be here to the end if that's how it's gonna be. But I think if we can just get some straight infomation on however you gonna keep the server alive as it is with no relaunch or something else then i'll pass that infomation around to get some old and newer players back to this server.
     
    fuck the haters, I love this server, appreciate all the work you've done since day one.

    We just need more player like Maltuz said, the server is awesome, no lag, bugs are being fixed quickly when we found them.
    Lets bring more ppl and have a great time .

    WreckingCrew will stick with Apex until the end, that means when only us left in the server. Relaunch will hurt all the people who has been here since day 1.

    Read the topic; as with every other suggestion topic.
     
    First off, just because someone suggests something does not mean we will go ahead and implement this the way it's been suggested, that's not to say some of your (and others') suggestions aren't good suggestions, but I just wanted to get that out of the way. Reasons we don't reply with "will be implemented in 2 months" is because anyone should know by now that ETAs will simply disappoint people when they can't be met, as such we never announce any ETAs for anything unless we've finished the work needed to meet that ETA.
     
    As for growing the server, we are planning something to regain attention / attract more players (no, it does not involve a relaunch...), the fact is I can't dedicate even 20% of what I used to be able to dedicate during the summer months, and it's taking its toll on things. Obviously, most of you are now thinking "Why not hire someone then?" - the answer is simple, no one will ever get their hands on anything we've made, server, database, or otherwise. There are no trustable people in the PSKO scene, people from the outside are a no-go for more reasons than I care to explain. In-game GM presence could be improved, however in-game GMs aren't able to help anyone aside from answering game/server-related questions, use the notice feature, and mute/ban characters. They simply do not have the power required, as again - there are no trustable people in the PSKO scene.
     
    I'm not a machine, I dedicate virtually all of my available spare time to try and do things needed for the server.

    Due to popular request, Isiloon has been moved from the Abyss to the center of Ronark Land!
    Its respawn time is random and its drop rate has been changed accordingly
